Visit Vivaltes

In December 2024, I had an interesting meeting at Vivaltes. For one of my customers, I wanted to conduct a test to examine the toxicity of a plant extract. Vivaltes is able to provide scientifically approved conclusive results. With their approach, health effectscan also be examined. Most of the tests are based on experiments with C. elegans.

Vivaltes has been at the forefront of innovative toxicity testing methods, utilizing the nematode C.elegans as a model organism. This tiny worm, despite its simplicity, shares many biological pathways with humans, making it an excellent subject for studying the effects of various substances. The use of C. elegans allows for high-through put screening and provides valuable insights into potential health impacts.

During my visit, I was impressed by the state-of-the-art facilities and the dedication of the Vivaltes team. Their commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and improving public health is truly commendable. I would like to thank Marjolein Wildwater and Robert de Mosch for introducing me to their world and for their hospitality.
